In a move to ensure top-notch security and efficiency, Security Minister Jim Muhwezi, Works and Transport Minister Gen Katumba Wamala, and Lucy Nakyobe, Chairperson of the National Organising Committee for the NAM (Non-Aligned Movement) Summit, visited the newly constructed passenger terminal at Entebbe International Airport. The inspection was conducted to evaluate the terminal's readiness for the impending summit.



The NAM Summit, a significant diplomatic event that brings together leaders from member countries to discuss global issues, is set to take place soon. Given the importance of the summit, preparations are in full swing to ensure that all facilities, especially those related to transportation and security, meet international standards.

Minister Jim Muhwezi emphasized the critical role of the airport in facilitating the smooth arrival and departure of international delegates. "The security and efficiency of Entebbe International Airport are paramount, especially during events of such magnitude. Our primary goal is to ensure the safety of all attendees while providing world-class services," he stated.

Works and Transport Minister Gen Katumba Wamala echoed these sentiments, highlighting the government's commitment to infrastructure development. "The new passenger terminal at Entebbe International Airport is a testament to Uganda's dedication to modernize its aviation facilities. We are confident that the upgraded terminal will enhance passenger experience and support the increased traffic expected during the summit," he commented.


Lucy Nakyobe, who heads the organizing committee for the NAM Summit, expressed satisfaction with the progress made in preparations. "The inspection of the new terminal is a significant step forward. The collaboration between various ministries and committees has been instrumental in achieving our objectives," she remarked.
